Homemade Meal #1

As a college student sometimes it is hard to make a good meal at home and a keep it cheap.  Over the last few years I have come to learn how easy it is to make a delicious meal and actually SAVE myself money!  An easy meal to make at home is baked Tilapia with couscous and a ceasar salad.  Fresh Tilapia is only about $8.00 a pound a Publix, couscous is roughly $2.00 a box, and a ceasar salad kit is roughly $3.00.  The Tilapia is super easy to make, you coat the fish with a beaten egg and rub bread crumbs on it and then put in a glass baking pan and bake it at 350 for about 40 minutes.  The couscous is easy; just follow the instructions on the box, it really only involves water and olive oil.  Lastly, those salad kits come with everything so those take no effort at all.  If you don’t want to use a salad kit, go ahead and get creative and make your own salad.  Once everything is done, put it on a plate; I'm sure your mom gave your some of those when you’re moved out.  There you go, you have yourself a delicious meal and it was cheaper, and healthier than going out somewhere to eat.

The Breakfast Club

Today I visited The Oviedo Breakfast Club off Alafya in the Plato's Closet plaza today.  It's a new restaurant that has only been opened for about a month or so.  It is a little hole-in-the-wall family restaurant.  They serve breakfast, lunch, and early dinner options. They had all kinds of things on their menu; I ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, turkey, cheese, on sourdough bread with a side of hash browns.  Everything is made to order, and it came out quickly. The only complaint I had about my sandwich, was my bread got soggy; but when I told one of the waiters, she toasted another slice of bread for me at no extra charge.  The restaurant was quaint and tidy decorated with out dated tables and booths.  It had a homey feeling to it; kind of like grandma's house.  I talked to the server that waited on me, and he spoke to me like we were old friends.  The staff there was very friendly and ensured that I was enjoying my meal.  Overall I enjoyed my experience at The Breakfast Club and I would indeed go back again to enjoy the home-style cooking.  It was definitely a place I would recommend to my friends.
